The light and the maritime surroundings create a magnificent backdrop for the museum’s rotating temporary exhibitions, displaying world-class modern glass.
The museum is open all year round and has a distinguished collection of glass art, which is presented in various themes throughout the year. One of the permanent works you will see is the staggering ‘Cosmic Space’, created by painter and sculptor Tróndur Patursson from the Faroe Islands. The Cosmic Space is made up of painted glass walls surrounding a mirrored floor and ceiling. When you enter the room, you feel like you are suspended between heaven and earth – a thrilling experience for both young and old.
